Over the course of 2011 Tiny Wings morphed from “game I play” into “something I do.” I joke that it’s a part of my life, now. But it isn’t really a joke at all. The game’s is a perfect example of one-touch game design, wringing an incredible amount of depth out of something as simple as pressing & releasing a touch screen. But it’s the game’s perfect balance that elevates it from “good” to “great.” Many auto-running titles resort to cheap deaths to end a player’s run, but in Tiny Wings players only have themselves to blame for a run ending prematurely. The urge to take another run at those Seussian hills is always extremely strong.
